I Built an AI to Listen to My Thoughts

A source-backed adaptation of a Write The Future essay on building a mindful AI thought partner.

This essay tells the story of building a mindful AI thought partner after noticing the familiar feeling of a mind with too many open tabs.

The point was not to make a tool that had answers. It was to make a tool that could listen well enough to help thought become visible. That is a different design challenge. It asks for patience, context, and restraint.

The useful version of AI helps thought become visible before it tries to be impressive.

I include it here because it makes the AI bet concrete. The useful version of AI is not the one that performs intelligence at me. It is the one that helps me meet my own thinking with more steadiness.
